Binary options safety: payout maths and evidence checks

Understand fixed-return contract arithmetic and the difference between a platform claim and independent evidence.

Start with the product, not its marketing name

A fixed-return contract, a CFD and a simulated evaluation have different economics. Identify the instrument and agreement before interpreting a payout percentage. A company incorporation document or membership of a private dispute body is not proof of statutory authorisation for the product. A platform being accessible from a country does not establish that its use or promotion is permitted there.

Winning profit and total return differ

A quoted 80% winning payout usually describes profit relative to stake in a simplified all-or-nothing example. With a $10 stake, a win earns $8 profit and returns the stake; a loss loses $10. Confirm the actual contract, including ties, cancellations and payout changes. A price prediction can be correct over a longer period but still lose at the selected expiry.

Worked example: break-even is above 50%

Under the simplified $8-win/$10-loss structure, break-even win rate is 10 ÷ (10 + 8), or 55.56%, before other costs. In ten trades, five wins earn $40 and five losses lose $50, leaving −$10. Six wins and four losses produce +$8. These calculations describe assumed payoffs, not evidence that a trader can achieve that win rate.

Check withdrawal conditions separately

A displayed account balance or screenshot of a profit is not a completed bank receipt. Read identity requirements, payment-route restrictions, minimum withdrawal, processing time, bonus conditions and dispute procedures. Do not infer reliable payouts from an affiliate testimonial. A successful withdrawal by one person does not establish how a provider will handle every customer.

Avoid recovery arithmetic

Increasing the stake after a loss increases exposure; it does not change the probability of the next contract. A losing sequence, lower payout or platform limit can make a recovery progression fail. Bonuses can add conditions that restrict withdrawal. Treat the exact turnover requirement and cancellation terms as part of the agreement, not as free cash.

Exercise and decision limits

Repeat the break-even calculation for 70% and 90% assumed winning profit: the rates are about 58.82% and 52.63%. Then explain why a higher payout does not prove better price integrity or licence status. This page is a safety lesson and does not recommend opening a fixed-return trading account. Consult official authorities for the relevant jurisdiction.
